Trevor Barnard, British-born pianist, leapt to fame in 1962 with his stunning and pioneering recording of the Bliss Piano Concerto with Malcolm Sargent and the Philharmonia (now on Diversions 24106). In his previous Divine Art CDs he has worked to promote the work of contemporary composers from Australia, where he has lived for many years. Here, he not only celebrates his long recording career, but also the development of piano music from J S Bach to the present day. Several tracks were previously on his very successful World Record Club album “An Introduction to Piano Music”, some are new.
